Dell 3060/5060/7060 Micro RP-SMA dual-band WiFi antenna parts Y9MPH and 3TJ9N

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/09/22

Two kinds of RP-SMA dual-band WiFi antenna parts having :

  • Y9MPH is an omnidirectional dipole stick antenna which most use
  • 3TJ9N is a semidirectional patch/panel antenna on a wire which few people use but can be useful when you want to put the antenna into a place having better signal reception

Both are also supposed to work for Dell OptiPlex Micro models 3020/3040/3050/5020/5040/5050/7020/7040/7050 (as 5030/7030 models were never released and 3030/9030 only released as a different all-in-one PC form factor): basically the end of the Micro form factors in Dell OptiPlex Series 4 and start of Dell OptiPlex Series 5.

Links (some also containing part numbers for other related components like internal wiring and M.2 Wi-Fi cards):

A while ago I bumped into the below post but forgot which Google Search query brought me to it. Very to the point info at [Wayback/Archive] Optiplex models – Difference between model-series – Dell Community (thanks [Wayback/Archive] Philip_Yip – Dell Community!) Read the rest of this entry »

The queste on figuring out why iqvw64e.sys is considered unsafe in Windows 11 22H2 after upgrading from Windows 10 on a Dell Optiplex 3060 Micro system

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/07/18

It started with this tweet [Wayback/Archive] Jeroen Wiert Pluimers @wiert@mastodon.social on Twitter: “Does anyone know why this iqvw64e.sys file from @Dell is considered unsafe? It is signed by @IntelSoftware and resides in C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\PCDr\SupportAssist\6.0.7033.2285\iqvw64e.sys iqvw64e.inf in the same directory: 04/06/2018,1.3.2.17 @IntelSupport? “

Dell 3060/5060/7060 Micro optional video boards

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/07/07

It was pretty hard to find any model/part-number information on optional video boards for the Dell 3060/5060/7060 Micro series (also known as Regulatory Model D10U and Regulatory Type D10U003).

These models by default had HDMI (version 1.4) and full-size DisplayPort (version 1.2) and additionally could ship with these configurations:

  • no optional video port
  • optional VGA port
  • optional HDMI 2.0b port (which unlike HDMI 1.4 or DisplayPort 1.2 supports HDR10)
  • optional DisplayPort 1.2 port
  • optional USBType C Alt Mode (Alternate Mode)

There was (seems not available any more) a serial port (:

Further below are some links I found, but first a ink to a good post on differences between 3060/5060/5070:

YouTube Archived: private Dell video about detecting non-POST issues like motherboard or memory failures

Posted by jpluimers on 2024/09/09

I forgot where I got this video from: [Wayback/Archive] YouTube Archived: private Dell video about detecting non-POST issues like motherboard or memory failures

It came in useful researching beeping pattern combined an amber/orange blinking pattern on one of my 2018 Dell 3060 MFF machines.

TL;DR

NOTE: On any OptiPlex built since 2012 (that is, 7010/9010/9010 AIO), Dell has stopped using all beep codes except for the Memory Failure code. (1, 3, 2, or one beep, then three beeps, then two beeps.) If your computer was built after 2012 and is making any other beep code, contact technical support for further help.

I knew it already needed a new coin cell battery, but that was surely not the only problem with it, and what type of battery it was (TL;DR: CR2032 and likely longer lasting BR2023 will be compatible too).
