To “activate” the activex menu after installing from the web installer (A workaorund from Marcu himself https://plus.google.com/+DobrinPetkov/posts/ES2B8PXQe6X)
In the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\18.0\Known IDE Packages\Delphi … delphicompro240.bpl, remove the underscores (__) pre-pended to the value (Untitled).

I missed the webinar yesterday and plan to still watch it because my main question I wanted to find answers for about the new installer is if they have enabled it to be automated yet? I do not want to have to keep clicking next, next, next and more importantly it is currently the only piece of software I have to manually install when building a new machine or setup a build server. I have tried using some of the undocumented command line options but have not found them to be consistent enough to include in my chocolatey or similar configuration scripts.

Interesting question. I never tried. Let me know if you find more information.

If they still use InstallAware then you can find some information on unattended installation parameters here:

That probably isn’t a serious big though (as in not affecting many people) – ActiveX is surely not commonly used any more. In fact I thought it was deprecated or even completely removed on all major browsers, including Internet Explorer?
I like the new installer and think it’s much slicker and simpler than the old one. It’s faster, too.

Actually the “ActiveX” section in Delphi covers a lot of COM stuff which is still used broadly in Windows, not only “ActiveX” add-ons for Internet Explorer or Visual Basic.

Does anybody trust a web installer from Embarcadero, dowloading code to your machine that maybe you’re forced to run as a privileged user?

Nope. I hardly trust any installers from them now.
