Hobbyscoop: 1980s broadcast testing your stereo equipment – YouTube

Posted by jpluimers on 2024/06/14

The 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s had the cool Dutch Hobbyscoop broadcast about anything technical related to audio/radio/computing.

One of their broadcasts got preserved at [Wayback/Archive] Hobbyskoop – YouTube.

A cool inclusion thing is that the main presenter for almost two decades was a woman named Ingrid Drissen who is still alive and still makes great presentations including ones about tech and science.

The were the initiator of Basicode, a crossplatform way for many 1970s and 1980s computers to save, load and broadcast BASIC programs over audio via FM and AM radio sometimes nicked an Esperanto for computers.

Posted by jpluimers on 2022/09/02

Posted by jpluimers on 2022/03/30

For my link archive as Ziggo is ditching the analog FM-signal rendering many devices inoperable in order to boost internet connectivity with a whopping 20 Mhz.

Switching to new hardware might as well give a much cheaper solution without Ziggo (need to check out at least NLZiet).

I wonder if Ziggo will really switch of the complete cable signal when ditching them, as I hear mixed information about that:
