Het grappige van sommige Tweakers.net artikelen is dat er dan ineens veel tips over een concurrerend product in staat (omdat de laatste over het algemeen op bepaalde vlakke beter is).

When Ctrl-Alt-Del fails on Linux: Fix a Frozen System with the Magic SysRq Keys (via FOSSwire)

Ctrl-Alt-Del will not safely reboot all systems under all circumstances.
If you run Linux, your keyboard has a magic RysRq key (sometimes not marked, but its the same key as the Print-Scrn key) and the Linux kernel is still running not all is lost.

You finally got your Linux environment to crash. Ctrl+Alt+Backspace does nothing, nor do the F-keys. You know you shouldn’t have installed that bad driver, but you did it anyway.So you reach for the power button.Stop.Mashing in the power button to reboot could cause a problem if your hard drive is still being written to, and usually causes more problems than it solves. The Linux kernel includes a secret method of restarting your PC should it ever stop doing its job.
- Hold down the Alt and SysRq (Print Screen) keys.
- While holding those down, type the following in order. Nothing will appear to happen until the last letter is pressed: REISUB
- Watch your computer reboot magically.
This 2007 comment makes it easier to remember: REISUB is the reverse of BUSIER:
R E I S U B – is just the word busier in reverse.

The ceiling spots had these power bricks had minimum power load of 20 and 35 watt, which was too high for our LEDs to function.

Missende vaccinaties?

Ik heb voor mezelf samen met de huisarts uitgezocht welke vaccinaties ik miste.
Er zaten een paar dingen tegen:
- Geboren in 1969 in Brabant en voor mijn 2e via Stolwijk naar de Bollenstreek (beide Zuid-Holland) verhuisd: meerdere provincies en gemeenten tijdens de eerste fase waarin veel vaccinaties worden gegeven
- Ouders die helaas niet mijn vaccinatieboekje hebben bewaard (dat van mijn broer wel)
- De meeste regio’s/provincies zijn pas vanaf 1970 of nog later (bijvoorbeeld Rotterdam: 1981) rijksvaccinaties gaan registreren (met als positieve uitzondering Amsterdam, Flevoland, Gelderland en Overijssel bijvoorbeeld sinds 1968)
- De regio’s zijn niet exact (dus sommige gemeenten zijn later/eerder gestart dan in het overzicht van regio’s staat aangegeven)
- Mazelen zat pas sinds 1976 in het rijksvaccinatieprogramma
- Waarschijnlijk heb ik geen mazelen gehad (wel weet ik zeker dat ik waterpokken en dubbelzijdige bof heb gehad; die laatste is net niet overgeslagen op hersenvliesontsteking)
- Kinkhoest bescherming door vaccinatie maar beperkte duur heeft, maar het voor mijn gesteldheid erg vervelend zou zijn als ik dat krijg
