How to transfer contacts from Blackberry to Android?
Posted by jpluimers on 2013/08/05
Could not find another way to transfer data off my wife’s BlackBerry 7 to her Google Nexus 4: the below video only only transfers the contacts.
Too bad there is no more Google Sync, so we need to find a way to transfer mail and photos too.
Any ideas?
Note: this works only from BlackBerry to Samsung devices: Easy Phone Sync – Android Apps on Google Play.

Yes, there is a much easier solution: IntouchApp – the Dropbox for contacts! Just install on the BB 7, register & login – contacts will sync. Next, install on Nexus 4 and login – done! as simple as that! If you get any other device, just install IntouchApp and login to get your contacts! Plus, contacts stay in sync across all these devices and are accessible online too. Find the app on all app stores or http://new.intouchapp.com/apps

Too bad: gives a 404-error on http://new.intouchapp.com/apps/bb5/app
And BlackBerry World has been spinning for 5 minutes while loading.
Any idea?

Now the BB downloads. Strange thing. Will keep you posted.

If you have AppWorld on your BB (which you should), that is the best way to get the app. Just search for “intouchapp”. The direct download link (not recommended if you plan to continue using the app as it won’t update the app for any important fixes) is http://intouchapp.com/apps/bb5/app
Thanks for spotting the buggy link. We will fix that soon.

She had never updated any apps on the phone, including BB world (regular users don’t do updates ever), so BB would at first not start at all (:
Now it started, intouchapp is installed (thanks!) and I’m about to start the transfer.

OK. It transferred the contacts. Now for an app that transfers all the photos.

Great! Use Dropbox for photos. Just keep them on the cloud so they are always accessible.

The thing with DropBox is that it only works for photos taken after you installed DropBox. It is a nightmare on BB to move all your existing photos 1-by-1 to the DropBox. But we solved that by just browsing for them from her MacBook Air, then copying them to DropBox.
Thanks for all the help!
