TeamViewer Portable on Windows without UAC breaking it

TeamViewer Portable (and its cousin TeamViewer QuickSupport) is a great tool for the occasional helping out of friends, but both Portable and QS don’t play well with UAC:
Your partner’s desktop is no longer accessible.
Probably you used a program that requires additional permissions.
Please wait until your partner has granted these permissions.
Many suggest to install the full TeamViewer client, but that is a bit against the point of occasional helping.
A practical solution is much easier: start either Portable or QS with using Run As Administrator once, and it works perfectly fine.

Note that TeamViewer does not have friendly pricing for home office use: License overview starts at EUR 500 for one workstation, and EUR 1000 for multi-workstation having only one concurrent license.
In addition, TeamViewer does MAC monitoring on your connections to sell you a license. So only for occasional use.

TeamViewer for Linux is not native, it comes bundled and works via wine_server.

Being a TeamViewer customer is very frustrating.
The problem is not the product – it is arguably the best of its kind – but the pricing system.
Never mind their bullshit about “users.” Those are useless as a measure of value provided to your organization. It’s the “channels” thing that’s bonkers. You pay for channels, like you were using telephone lines. If you have a big help (meaning, anything more than THREE agents) then prices are just out of this world.
It’s sad that they have practically no competition.
