Packing list for evacuation:
Great point. When I retweeted the essay, I pulled out the main takeaways and put them in a thread so that people in a rush to pack wouldn't have to wade through the entire piece but those that just saw the original tweet probably didn't see it. Stay safe! https://t.co/2eQOMh2L5k

This time-stamped map is a better, safer, legal way to get preliminary info about your property at this point. Authorities advise everyone to stay out. @thesclocal https://t.co/qzMoEomvuD pic.twitter.com/9Tg6BF7YZd

Finding your zone by address
You can plug in your exact address by doing the following: Go here: https://t.co/bXNygYAMtg – Go down to the map, click the search icon (magnifying glass near top left) and enter your address. It will locate your address and if it’s red, it’s time to hit the road.

Drinking water likely unsafe for a long time:
San Lorenzo Valley Water District has issued the do not drink/do not boil order for all residents north of Alba Rd. No word on areas south of Alba Rd. The advisory, in English and Spanish, is below. A map of the affected areas is included.https://t.co/9o1XFiOf94
— Erin Bergren (@erin_bergren) August 30, 2020
Some folks are asking for the original source of the information I posted yesterday about the water situation north of Alba Road. This is the original source. I have also seen notes from this meeting and the minutes should be posted soon https://t.co/IlwmSn20DH
— Erin Bergren (@erin_bergren) August 29, 2020
CLARIFICATION: the water problems aren’t just for folks north of Alba. Folks south of Alba may be facing contamination and a no drink/no boil order as well https://t.co/6qXaKExfIr

The #CZULightningComplex Fire has contaminated North Coast wells, damaged water systems and rendered a wastewater plant inoperable, leaving hundreds of households without water and unsure of when it will return. @JesseKathan 's latest for @theSCLocal https://t.co/3nCyQk6emH

Fire is still burning and damage is still being tallied of course.
Count is now 443 structures destroyed, 432 in this county. https://t.co/3dApUsnWZw
takes several minutes to load…but it *will* load!

Ben Lomond library on Alba Road is gone:
Historic Alba Schoolhouse left completely destroyed by the #CZULightningComplex. Built in 1895 also served as a library branch for decades near Ben Lomond. If you zoom in you can see the bell from the bell tower sitting in the ash. pic.twitter.com/zWzLAugt6N

Sidenote, Alba is an ancient name for Scotland.
— Vnes (venus) of Santa Cruz they/them/she/her 🌈 (@vnesofsc) August 21, 2020
Lots of Scottish settled in those hills in the old days. Hence the Bonny Doon, Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond.
Bell has been collected for safekeeping https://t.co/PV2S2utE9D

This is absolutely heartbreaking to hear. #CZULightningComplex #benlomond https://t.co/B2wkQmOWRl

Downtown areas of Felton, Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek along Highway 9 still looking completely unscathed as of a few hours ago.
— Nick Ibarra (@nickmibarra) August 21, 2020
That’s what I’d understood, but it was good to see.
I don’t think so. The road was blocked by downed power lines and trees not to much further up and we had to turn back.
— Nick Ibarra (@nickmibarra) August 22, 2020
I’m so sorry Dale, and anyone else asking about specific homes. I’ll keep sorting through what I have, and if I can credibly tell you anything, I will.
Just In: They are requesting Powerlines on Alba Rd to be cleared so that they "can get trucks up to Bonny Doon"
— Looking-To-Help (@S68004838) August 21, 2020
I think the help is on its way!
The blaze started on Alba Rd. at 1 am Wednesday and destroyed at least 50 houses. The crews have run out of local water supplies since tanks and wells are empty and have to go to the valley to get more. They’re trying to keep the fire off Highway 9. pic.twitter.com/VY6ZPPElvN
— Mallory Moench (@mallorymoench) August 21, 2020
Update from Clear Creek Road in Brookdale – this house at least is safe. So it looks like there are safe houses in this area north of Alba Rd and I have webcam confirmation that the area south of Alba Rd is also safe for now – looks like fire spread was confined to Alba https://t.co/3tArkr8bFe
— Erin Bergren (@erin_bergren) August 21, 2020
Early this AM in the area of California’s oldest State Park, Big Basin Redwoods, as structures burned. With few fire crews available, we watched several dozen homes burn. Homes & ranches on Felton Empire Rd, Alba, and Acorn were devastated. #SantaCruzFires #LightningComplexFires pic.twitter.com/ydNuejX1Tu

Thanks keji, much appreciated. We're safe and bugged out, thanks, but it's looking like home and farm are a total loss. Trying to get "eyes on" positive confirmation but access is still highly restricted while fires are still active

First picture of the smoke
Daughter and I went Milky Way capturing at Pigeon Point Lighthouse on Monday not realizing #CZULightningComplexFire was just getting started.

I caught this before leaving cause I thought it was light fog developing with Santa Cruz lights reflecting.
It was the Smoke and Fire. pic.twitter.com/lkszGDrp9e
