Auteur Jean Marc van Tol van Fokke en Sukke stopt op BSKY: …. (@jmvtol.bsky.social) — Bluesky

Posted by jpluimers on 2026/01/31

Meer info: [Wayback/Archive] …. (@jmvtol.bsky.social) — Bluesky

GitHub – spotDL/spotify-downloader: Download your Spotify playlists and songs along with album art and metadata (from YouTube if a match is found).

Posted by jpluimers on 2026/01/01

Need to check the matching algorithm of [Wayback/Archive] GitHub – spotDL/spotify-downloader: Download your Spotify playlists and songs along with album art and metadata (from YouTube if a match is found).

I wanted to download [Wayback/Archive] The Incredits – song and lyrics by Michael Giacchino | Spotify for music practice, but then found Michael listed it on his YouTube channel twice:

A bit later I also found [Wayback/Archive] The Incredits – Transcription (with original score) – YouTube with [Wayback/Archive] The Incredits Sheet Music for Piano, Trombone, Tuba, Flute piccolo & more instruments (Symphony Orchestra) | MuseScore.com

Via [Wayback/Archive] Youtube-dl supports Spotify. How to use it? : youtubedl.

Dashboard: Invoices – Proton Account

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/12/15

For the yearly administration shizzle, the direct link to Dashboard: Invoices – Proton Account (account.proton.me/u/dashboard#invoices) where sometimes you have to visit one of your product first.

The reason is that at the time of writing, this was documented to be in a different place, as per [Wayback/Archive] How to download, customize, or pay invoices | Proton

Log in to your Proton Account at account.proton.me on a computer, click Settings → All settings → Dashboard, and scroll down to Invoices.

You start at [Wayback/Archive] account.proton.me/login and end up at account.proton.me/apps and that is where you cannot choose settings. You can however go to individual products and via that to the above invoices link. That’s cumbersome, it is way easier to just follow that invoices link, but in case you want to go via the products, these are the steps to follow:

How do you disable these thumbnails that pop up near the end of videos!? : r/youtube

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/12/09

Since a few years, YouTube puts annoyingly overlays on top of like the last 5 to 10 seconds of videos often covering valuable content.

Lately – while preparing for concerts – I have watched a lot of score music videos where the end really is very important to me (see the example below), for instance when rehearsing [Wayback/Archive] La Alhambra – Llano – YouTube until the final end.

The solution came from [Wayback/Archive] How do you disable these thumbnails that pop up near the end of videos!? : r/youtube

camerahacks/rpilocator-rss-feed: rpilocator RSS Feed Notifications

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/12/04

On my list to experiment with is [Wayback/Archive] camerahacks/rpilocator-rss-feed:

This is the official rpilocator.com and hwlocator.com RSS feed reader and push notification scripts and Node-RED flows. The RSS feed is checked every minute and the script/flow sends a push notification when a product comes in stock.

Send ntfy, Pushbullet, Pushover or Gotify notifications to your device.

I only knew one of the above services, so here I have listed links to all of them:

All of Bluesky’s Features and How to Use Them

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/11/21

I wonder what has changed since this November 2024 article: [Wayback/Archive] All of Bluesky’s Features and How to Use Them

Via a response on me asking about moderation lists: [Wayback/ArchiveJohn Kraal: “Deze pagina had wat basic info. Het is wel gewoon vertrouwen delegeren aan een willekeurige ander dus ga er niet blind op :-) …” — Bluesky

Do WiFi-cables (German: WLAN-Kabel) exist?

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/11/21

There is this German joke about “WLAN-Kabel” (WiFi-cable) ** that goes with #Neuland (Germans mocking about Internet and technology still being uncharted territory*).

Yes, they do!

There is [Wayback/Archive] IWLAN RCoax Cable | Industrial Wireless LAN | Siemens Global:

* Neuland

CSV To HTML Converter

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/11/04

While blogging, online tools often beat offline or command-line tools, so here there are:

They use JavaScript and do client-side conversion.

There are way more conversion targets (Delimited, Flat File, GeoJSON, HTML Table, JSON, KML, Markdown, Multi-line Data, PDF, SQL, Word, XML, YAML) and operations (Pivot, Transpose, Query with SQL), but the above are what I use most.

Turning off AI during Google Search with the “new” UDM parameter

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/10/17

It looks like I missed that Google has added a new URL parameter to its search engine quite a while ago.

In the past, you could turn on image search using the tbm=isch URL parameter (“to be matched” and “image search”).

That still works, but there is a new parameter on the block that is officially undocumented, and can be used to switch into various search modes including image search but also AI-less search.

This drastically lowers the carbon footprint and also gets you far less speculative information.

Edit 20251023: I forgot to save the below part before the scheduled post got published. So here we go
