If you (want to) do web-development with Chrome, then be sure to read the articles by Umar Hansa | Nettuts+ .
At the time of writing, there were three articles centered around using Google Chrome as part of your developemt suite, and a few more on things like HTML 5 and CSS:
Besides the technical insight, I also very much like the writing style. Great job Umar!

Thanks for StackOverflow user xordon for this answer :
This is current accepted way to link to a specific lat lon (rather than search for the nearest object).
http://maps.google.com/maps?z=12&t=m&q=loc:38.9419+-78.3020
z is the zoom level (1-20)
t is the map type (“m ” map, “k ” satellite, “h ” hybrid, “p ” terrain, “e ” GoogleEarth)
q is the search query, if it is prefixed by loc: then google assumes it is a lat lon separated by a +

I was aware of Finally, proof that all movie trailers use the same color palette .
Now I know that movie posters differ there palettes according to the genre of movie .
Thanks Lars Fosdal – Google+ . for re-sharing this: How do you search (Google) movies?
It got me doing some searching myself, and the colour distribution has been researched before too:
Back to the shared post, as it adds genre to the colours:
Trick: “Movie posters” by color on Google Images
Type “movie posters”
Click images > Search tools > Color
[Movies by Colors]

Could not find another way to transfer data off my wife’s BlackBerry 7 to her Google Nexus 4: the below video only only transfers the contacts.
Too bad there is no more Google Sync, so we need to find a way to transfer mail and photos too.
Any ideas?
Note: this works only from BlackBerry to Samsung devices: Easy Phone Sync – Android Apps on Google Play .

A while ago, I posted Google Reader alternatives: did you make a choice yet? indicating this about Feedly:
PRO: GR imported posts contains all history (even from blog feeds that are now defunct)
Well, I was proven wrong by this Feedly posting about the migration to their own cloud: [IMPORTANT] Preparing to be upgraded to the new feedly cloud | Building Feedly .
The one part we did not migrate from google reader is your history (too much data) so you have to expect that you are starting from a blank history and your unread counts will be reset. This is a one time issue.
Is there any Google Reader replacement that imports full history?

Great tip:
While reading online, have you ever seen a word or phrase that you wanted to learn more about? Next time, just highlight the term(s) and then drag it to your tabstrip to the right or left of your current tab — a new tab will open with search results for the highlighted text.
You can find other tab tricks like this here: http://goo.gl/lSilD #chrometip

Almost 3 months after the Powering Down Google Reader announcement, most Google Reader users will have been looking for alternatives.
If you were whining, Stop whining about Google Reader , then take some action.
Before switching away from Google Reader, be sure to export the data through Google Takeout then download the export.
Read How to painlessly export your Google Reader feeds | News | Geek.com for more information.
Note that the subscriptions.xml in the download is in fact an OPML file.
Until early may, I was waiting for Announcing Digg Reader to become a real reader, but gave up.
Right now I’m experimenting with a couple of replacements, so here are some notes: Read the rest of this entry »

My Google Reader alternatives shortlist comes down to these 3
PRO: imports GR including which posts you already read.
PRO: GR imported posts contains all history (even from blog feeds that are now defunct)
CON: slows down browser considerably
CON: UI has too much whitespace
CON: UI is slow (browsing with j/k takes ages)
PRO: uses as much screen estate as possible
PRO: very fast UI
CON: GR import misses the read/unread markers
CON: GR import incomplete (so now defunct feeds do not appear)
One of the reasons I want to have the defunct feeds, is that it contains the old blog of a friend that passed away.
Did you make a choice yet ?
