In case I ever want to import another SVN repository into GitHub (for instance form SourceForge)

Posted by jpluimers on 2025/08/27

The odd thing is that SourceForge has (sf.net) a GitHub project importer (for more than 10 years now!), but not vice versa. You can import a SVN repository in GitHub, but that’s far from importing a complete sf.net project.

More on the importer to import GitHub to SourceForge below, but first the other way around:

These steps worked to get xn-resource-editor.sf.net into github.com/jpluimers/XN-Resource-Editor-TWM (which I did because the GitHub web UI is so much better at browsing and searching commits and files than the SourceForge web UI):

The Dutch stop of the RAD Studio In Action LIVE! tour is on September 7th.

The venue location is via Holiday Inn Leiden Hotels: Haagse Schouwweg 10, 2332 KG  Leiden, The Netherlands.

It is close to the advertised “Amsterdam Netherlands” (about half an hour drive), close to the A44 highway and close enough to public transport. And it is indeed on Saturday September 7, 2013

If you have an account on SourceForge.net, then you need to reset your password now

Posted by jpluimers on 2011/01/31

If you have an account on SourceForge.net, then now you need to reset your password by visiting https://sourceforge.net/account/registration/recover.php.

SourceForge.net was attacked recently (the whole story is on exploit-DB), so they are requesting everyone to reset their passwords.

I got a mail about it last weekend, and their blog now contains this message: Read the rest of this entry »

Turbo Power projects finally coming alive again? Nick Hodges is now tpsfadmin on SourceForge – DelphiFeeds.com

Posted by jpluimers on 2009/09/29

Nick Hodges just posted he has become the tpfsadmin on sourceforge: the administrative account for the Turbo Power tools and libraries.

It is not an officially sponsored Embarcadero thing, but at best semi official.

However, it is an admirable step into getting the Turbo Power tools and libraries updated in one central place again.

Those tools include OnGuard, Orpheus, SysTools, FlashFiler, B-TreeFiler, Async Professional and many others.

So if you have your own fork of any of the Turbo Power code from sourceforge, then please drop Nick a note.

Many thanks to Nick!
