When you join a Wi-Fi network that shows a captive portal on the iPhone, iOS opens the captive portal in a Safari web view regardless of which default browser you’ve chosen.
This little experiment implements a captive portal that detects the browser. Brave was the default browser, but iOS opened the captive portal in Safari. The second screenshot shows what this sample website displays if opened with Brave.

After researching the below tweet, I found out that many LG monitors have this limitation on downstream ports, depending on how the upstream USB-C port is connected:
Their manuals phrase it like this:
- When the USB C-C cable is connected between Upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of
monitor support USB 2.0 device.- When the USB C-A cable is connected between Upstream port of monitor and Host PC, the Downstream port of
monitor support USB 3.0 device.
However, Host PC must support USB 3.0 function.
This means that in USB C-C land (for which Apple was basically a driving force, but nowadays many laptops only have USB-C connections) your monitor downstream ports are limited to USB 2.0.
If I read the various comments correctly, the additional limitation is that in the USB C-C case, the downstream ports are non-powered.
Which means I will avoid LG monitors at all cost.

De TL;DR: ik heb ontlastingsklachten na veel ingrepen vanwege uitgezaaide endeldarmkanker. Macrogol helpt de ontlasting beter van consistentie te krijgen.
In 2023 testte ik 4 verschillende fabrikanten vanwege een beleidswijziging van de verzekeraar (wat hen veel geld kostte en mij veel tijd), wat achteraf goed was omdat een maand terug ineens het middel van de fabrikant die mijn lichaam het beste verdraagt niet leverbaar was.
Gelukkig heb ik van eerdere problemen met medcijnlevering (hallo allopurinol en hallo crisis in 2023 [Wayback/Archive] Dit is waarom we in Nederland zoveel medicijnen tekortkomen – EenVandaag!)
Na alle behandelingen van eind 2019 tot en met halverwege 2022 rondom mijn uitgezaaide endeldarmkanker blijf ik met LAR-syndroom, wat kort is voor low anterior resection syndrome. De Low Anterior Resection was bij mij onderdeel was van een Total Mesorectal Excision: een methode waarbij relatief veel omliggend weefsel rond de endeldarm wordt weggenomen om zo de kans op relatief lokale uitzaaiingen te verminderen.
Dit was het alternatief voor een permanent colostoma: een stoma van de dikke darm. Bij dit alternatief hoort een – vooraf door mij geaccepteerd risico – op TME post operatieve klachten. De operatie is een forse ingreep laag in het kleine bekken waar weinig ruimte is en bij vrouwen meer doorheen loopt (vagina en baarmoeder) dan bij mannen (prostaat), naast uiteraard blaas, plasbuis en de endeldarm.

… I also ran into weird DNS slow-downs, which I didn’t fully diagnose. In Wireshark, it looked like my machine sent 2 DNS queries but received only 1 DNS result, and then waited for a timeout.
… Since I last used MikroTik in 2014 the software seems to have barely changed. I wish they finally implemented some table-stakes features like DNS resolution for DHCP hostnames
