Yet another interesting post (I think it is via [Wayback/Archive] isotopp, but I cannot find the original message any more): [Wayback/Archive] Migration from Twitter to Mastodon | ads’ corner.

Given Elon Musk taking over Twitter, I decided to create an account in the federated social network Mastodon part of the Fediverse realm. In my case it is [Wayback/Archive] Jeroen Wiert Pluimers (@wiert@mastodon.social) – Mastodon (which you can visit at mastodon.social/@wiert).
Right now the account is rudimentary. More meta-data and media will be added later.
Mastodon is open source at [Wayback/Archive] mastodon/mastodon: Your self-hosted, globally interconnected microblogging community and you can join via [Wayback/Archive] Mastodon – Decentralized social media (joinmastodon.org) after choosing a Mastodon server/website. I have chosen [Wayback/Archive] Home – Mastodon (mastodon.social).
Given a Mastodon has a trunk, messages on Mastodon are called “Toots”.
For now some of the Tweets and links that Kris ([Wayback/Archive] Kris (@isotopp@chaos.social) – chaos.social) posted helping me to start on Mastodon.

Time to be prepared:
[Wayback/Archive] Elon Musk Warns Twitter Bankruptcy Possible as Senior Executives Exit – Bloomberg
The below will help you exporting your Twitter content (Tweets, DMs, media), perform some conversions on them and optionally delete (parts of) your content.
Important: keep your Twitter account afterwards (to prevent someone from creating a new account with the same handle).

Good thread: [Archive.is] Jelmer Visser on Twitter: “Doelwit van een flamewar op Twitter? Dat is vervelend. Zo doorsta je de storm. 1.

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, so it is a good day to write about a Twitter bot that tries to coerce people in having more accessible Twitter names and messages.
I knew I made a bookmark of [Wayback/Archive] Jacques Favreau on Twitter: “@Conundrum9999 @asciiArtHelpBot will make a little video of reading these things if anybody wants to try it out on a tweet.”
But when searching for it earlier this month, I could not find it (see below how in the end I did find it back).
The tweet was part of a thread that started with this tweet which very well describes why you should refrain from using fancy characters in Tweets or Twitter names:
[Wayback/Archive] Katie Mixtochtli – read my pinned – use alt text on Twitter: “Why you should avoid symbols and nonstandard letters in your twitter name if you want to be screen reader friendly: #DisabilityTwitter #disabilityinclusion Read on to see how “𝕁𝕒𝕞𝕖𝕤 – ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ⁱˢ ᵗʰᵉ ᵖʳᵒᵗᵉˢᵗ – ℂ𝕣𝕠𝕩𝕥𝕠𝕟 liked your reply” sounds to me 👇🏼”
The thread contains the long text you get when a screen reader reads that tweet. A video of that is below, and I saved the thread at [Wayback/Archive] Thread by @Conundrum9999 on Thread Reader App:

Quite often, but at unpredictable intervals and durations, twitter.com/i/timeline fails.
I finally got the right search terms for this, so via [Wayback] twitter search your timeline – Google Search I found [Wayback] How to search your Twitter timeline | iMore.
The alternative:
Their trick is to filter your tweets on filter:follows filter:nativeretweets, then order by latest (the f=live bit below).
Direct web-link: twitter.com/search?q=filter%3Afollows%20filter%3Anativeretweets&src=typed_query&f=live
For me, this filter seems to work better: filter:follows -filter:replies -filter:nativeretweets as it allows me to easily include or exclude retweets.
Direct URL: twitter.com/search?q=filter%3Afollows%20-filter%3Areplies%20-filter%3Anativeretweets&src=typed_query&f=live
I bolded a few bits above for readability; below you can see how the URI is formed from the filter parts:
| filter part | URI part | notes |
|---|---|---|
twitter.com/search?q= |
base of URI | |
filter:follows |
filter%3Afollows |
show tweets of people you follow |
%20 |
encoded space | |
filter:nativeretweets |
filter%3Anativeretweets |
only show new-style retweets |
& |
URI parameter separator | |
src=typed_query |
tells Twitter this is a “filter” | |
f=live |
the “filter” is “Latest” tweets (without this, it is “Top” tweets) | |
-filter:replies |
-filter%3Areplies |
do not show replies (those are in your regular “notifications” already) |
-filter:nativeretweets |
-filter%3Anativeretweets |
do not show new-style retweets |
