This was no incident:
[Wayback/Archive] Jeroen Wiert Pluimers @wiert@mastodon.social on Twitter: “Als zowel @WoonVeilig als @Egardia op 2 verschillende systemen een systeemtest failure geven en de apps 500-errors weet je dat hun infrastructuur plat ligt. Al een paar uur geleden, dus heel benieuwd hoe snel ze hun engineers wakker kunnen bellen.”
One of the problem is that Egardia/Woonveilig sees their social media channels as a broadcast-only. You can for instance se this when searching doing a [Wayback/Archive] egardia – Twitter Search or [Wayback/Archive] woonveilig – Twitter Search: no answers from them.
There were similar incidents in the past which I did not document on Twitter, but this outage was so large I had to documented it. So I started the [Wayback/Archive] Thread by @jpluimers on Thread Reader App with these images:

Besides the August 2025 XKCD infrastructure dependency inspired cartoon on the right, the more recent and great [Wayback/Archive] XCKD: Dependency derivative below is a monumental piece as it combines the recent:

Karateka (which appeared way before the even more famous Prince of Persia which appeared 5 years later) memories of the past, for which I totally agree with the conclusion: the game on Apple ][ was way better:
[Wayback/Archive] 𝔸𝕟𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕝𝕪 𝕊𝕙𝕒𝕤𝕙𝕜𝕚𝕟💾 on Twitter: “@textfiles Jordan’s opinion on the IBM version”
JULY 31, 1986
Just looked at the “final” version of PC Karateka. It seemed OK, I guessed, except for overall sluggishness, frequent disk accesses, and a few minor graphics glitches. Then I booted up the Apple version to compare… and it was so smooth, it made me want to cry.
The PC version is maybe 50% of what it should be. I can’t even tell these guys s what to fix… it’s a million little things, and they’re just not up to the hassle. That kind of attention to detail is why the Apple version took me two years. This version is probably the best I’ll ever get out of them.
You can play the PC version online at [Wayback/Archive] Karateka IBM Version 1986-01-30 (1986-02-04) (ID 0873) : Jordan Mechner : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Internal Alpha version (1986-01-30) of the IBM port of Karateka by Jordan Mechner.
It was ported to many platforms, and there was a great documentary too. So there are more YouTube links below than [Wayback/Archive] Karateka IBM PC Model 5150 Longplay – YouTube which has this great description:

On my list of hardware/software to experiment with is [Wayback/Archive] Meshtastic:
An open source, off-grid, decentralized, mesh network built to run on affordable, low-power devices
Via [Wayback/Archive] @jilles_com@infosec.exchange on Twitter: “Will be taking to meshtastic.org Lora 433MHz modules to @hotelhacker. Might be cool if more people could bring some to setup a larger mesh and play with them. amzn.eu/d/aCgULy4“
Products:
For both boards, this holds:
1. The Meshtastic program is not pre-installed on this product. If you need to install, please check the steps:
github.com/geeksville/Meshtastic-Android/blob/master/README.md
github.com/meshtastic/meshtastic-device/releases
2. If GPS does not work, the following situations may occur:
Install the Meshtastic firmware before and now reset the GPS when you switch to another firmware.
Reset steps: github.com/Xinyuan-LilyGO/LilyGo-LoRa-Series/tree/master/firmware/GPS_%20reset_test
3. If GPS is weak indoors, it can be used outdoors
4. The GPS antenna is not installed stably, you can check if the interface is attached to the GPS antenna

When I have an external monitor connected to my 2015 era Retina MacBook Pro machines, I wanted some apps to appear on the laptop screen and others on the external one.
That was harder than I hoped for as no single solution works in all cases.
What I do now is to make sure the icon bar is on the monitor where I want applications to open. Not perfect, but works for most cases.
Here are some links that helped me:
