Reminder to research this: TFS bindings, .vspscc and .vssscc files

Posted by jpluimers on 2012/10/24

I need to put some time into researching how TFS source control bindings really work, as it is not only based on these extensions:

  • .vssscc (Visual Studio Solution Source Code Control)
  • .vspscc (Visual Studio Project Source Code Control)

Information is also stored in the .sln solution files. These postings should get me going:

Twitter / AdobeType: Source Sans Pro v 1.038 got released on October 19th, 2012: small caps and more.

Posted by jpluimers on 2012/10/23

Reminder to self:

Source Sans Pro v 1.038 is released. Now with small capitals (and more)! GitHub: https://github.com/adobe/source-sans-pro/downloads … SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sourcesans.adobe/ …

With Source Sans Pro goes the – also free – Source Code Pro.

All fonts come in OTF and TTF format. Since there are quite a few differences between OTF and TTF, I’d use OTF over TTF whenever possible.

I also found a great interview with Paul D Hunt, the main designer of these fonts, and his Pilcrow Pabulum blog.

I totally missed the OCZ Octane 1TB 2.5 inch SSD Review, too bad it is soo expensive

Posted by jpluimers on 2012/10/23

About 4 months ago, I missed the OCZ Octane SSD Review – Internal Hard Drives – CNET Reviews.

Too bad that at roughly USD 2400 (the lowest price vendor at CNET lying), it is about three times as expensive as the Google Shop search for Hard Drives Intel Solid State 600 GB that I already have.

Simple SharePoint CAML Query Tester using jQuery & SPServices –

Posted by jpluimers on 2012/10/23

Interesting SharePoint CAML XML trouble shooting tool:

this script is NOT meant to help you *build* your queries. There are other tools for that. This is purely a testing tool to help you during those “doh” moments.

Downloading TomTom POI files for Germany/Austria/Switzerland and for Italian LPG & CNG filling stations

Posted by jpluimers on 2012/10/22

LPG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas. CNG is Compressed Natural Gas. Both are good fuels for cars. I favour LPG, for two reasons. First, it often can be obtained as a rest-product of cracking crude oil, second it has a much higher energy density than CNG.

For each country, you should

  1. download the POI files (preferably in the OV2 format)
  2. download the icon bitmap file
  3. make sure the name portion of the files are the same
  4. copy those files to your device using the something like the MyPOI manager or the instructions at TomTom POI updates in TomTom forum – GPS POI.

Germany, Austria & Switzerland

Note: In Switzerland, there are relatively few LPG stations, but many CNG stations.

Download section for getting LPG and CNG stations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria: LPG & CNG Tankstellen (download).

For TomTom devices, just download the LPG or CNG files for POI and Icon:

Italy and other countries

Start your downloads at LPG Autogas in Italy – Petrol GPS POI data directory for TomTom, Garmin, Navman, SmartPhones and other GPS devices. – GPS POI Data.

Then press the Download POI File button to download the OV2 and BMP file.

It was a lot of pain, and somehow my Android 4 device now doesn’t sync contacts any more.

I’ve been working with some continuous integration setups using CruiseControl.net for a suite of Visual Studio 2010 projects stored on Team Foundation Server 2010.
