On the research list: [Wayback/Archive.is] ahochsteger/gmail2gdrive: Gmail2GDrive is a Google Apps Script which automatically stores and sorts Gmail attachments into Google Drive folders.
The script is in JavaScript and runs on Archive.is Apps Script – Google Apps Script.
Because of [Wayback/Archive.is] gmail – Way to automatically download or print attachments or URLs from emails with specific labels – Web Applications Stack Exchange.

This is way better than suggestions from the past: increase the frequency in which email arrives at the POP3 account.

A problem on a PC I did not use often: as of a sudden, Outlook 2013 could not access a gmail account any more.
Luckily, Outlook showed me this message in a dialog box:
Please log in via your web browser: https://support.google.com/mail/accounts/answer/78754 (Failure)
This directed me to [WayBack] Use IMAP to check Gmail on other email clients – Gmail Help
In turn that pointed to [WayBack] Let less secure apps access your account – Google Account Help
Finally that one indicated the configuration page changed to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
This is similar to the cause of “the user name or password for imap.gmail is incorrect” – iPad, iPod or iPhone with iOS < 7

So Google does RFC checkking: [Archive.is] My message was blocked – Google Product Forums and shows bot the above link and this in the SMTP protocol:
“Our system has detected that this message is not RFC 5322 compliant,”
After that is the actual reason (for instance no From).
