Finding your Twitter peers on the #Fediverse is easy with fedifinder.glitch.me

Edit 20221118-19: Added Twitidon

Lot’s of interest in Mastodon and other social media projects in the Fediverse now that Musk tries to reign Twitter.

Jan explained how easy it is to your existing Twitter peers in the Fediverse and import them using fedifinder.glitch.me:

Be sure to include the above code formatted Fediverse information in your Twitter profile to make it easier for others to find you.

Uploading can take a while, and after that processing is queued and usually takes even longer, so you usually get this message:

Mastodon message after uploading:Import: Your data was successfully uploaded and will be processed in due time

Import: Your data was successfully uploaded and will be processed in due time

Twitodon

Another tool that helps you find back Twitter peers is [Wayback/Archive] Twitodon – Find your Twitter friends on Mastodon

Like fedifinder, it is open source: [Wayback/Archive] diddledani/twitodon: Twitter to Mastodon account mapping service to aid migration away from Twitter without losing all your followed friends)

Unlike fedifinder, it works in a different way: it keeps a map of twitter/mastodon addresses of people that have previously searched through Twitodon, then returns the matches as downloadable Mastodon addresses.
