MySQL – there now seem to be replication mechanisms that work

  1. Easy solution? Use PostgreSQL. Or if client really needs it just move to Cassandra for example.

      Often the best way to solve a problem is to avoid the problem. So I convinced them not to use replication at all (which introduces all sorts of other issues).
