Edit 20260804: the createguid.com domain got hijacked by a gambling site. In stead, use [Wayback/Archive] UUID Generator Online – Generate UUID v4 Values | TextBases which is client-side JavaScript based unlike the original page. Thanks Bakti for notifying me.
Other alternatives already had been listed in the comments below, but some have gune defunct since then. I have listed the still working ones:

BTW: Last year, we were very near by: playing with the band in Luzern (Tattoo on Stage/World Band festival) and Tahlwil (visiting friends), and a bit further: Thunstetten (visiting other friends) right after speaking at Entwickler Konferenz 2010.

We were first!!!! Daniel Wischnewski and I did http://get-a-guid.com/ like.. erm.. 5 years ago on a EKON in some minutes after Nick Hodges said we need to use all available guids to bring Microsoft to fall.

Actually I’m thinking about an iPad app: first 4 GUIDs are free, thereafter each additional GUID is just 79 cents through an in-app-purchase.
