Like Circuit City and Radio Shack, Fry’s Electronics closed down. We all saw it coming, but: damn.

Damn. I mean, DAMN. Fry's Electronics is closing all stores, nationwide. They built a couple of systems for me, and I spent a fortune there on everything from corn chips to resistors. It's not like we didn't see it coming, but…damn.#FrysElectronics https://t.co/nidyqddmjN

Sad day in Silicon Valley. Reports that iconic electronics retailer Frys Electronics is shutting all of its stores appeared on the net today. Campbell store’s been closed for at least a week. pic.twitter.com/fEsEGd84iu

Heck we are also the home to Digikey. If Microcenter doesn't have it, I can order the component and at my door the next day.

And there is also Ax-Man.
The coasts have no idea about the things they are missing.

Oh my god.
And the presentation room where they demoed home theater equipment. pic.twitter.com/wyjePiNWpB
When I was UCSC's Apple Student Rep, I spent a day doing one-on-one, Newton Message Pad demos at the Egyptian-themed Fry's in Campbell. https://t.co/za7gK2dHU8

Bay Area Fry's Stores Ranked:
— Akash Kumar (@akashkumarfilm) February 24, 2021
1. Campbell (Pyramid)
2. SJ (Mayan Temple)
3. Fremont (World's Fair)
4. Palo Alto (Western)
5. Sunnyvale (SV Tech History)
But my favorite was the Burbank 50s sci-fi store. As a former employee, it hella sucked working there ✌🏾
Campbell's Fry's was Ancient Egyptian themed! pic.twitter.com/4CtbCGcmSE

I can't tell you how much we loved going to Fry's back in the day. The computer chip one in Sunnyvale, the Egyptian tomb one in Campbell, the one in San Diego and my favorite, the one in San Marcos. I used to tell people I moved to San Marcos for the Fry's :-)

remember those ma & pa stores in the valley, the ones where you’d get the 56k modem & hard drive without a box, they were always behind the counter. It was cheap & fun. & remember Fry’s was always shitty but more fun then pa’s place, and Newegg was always the steal. The 90s.

I grew up going to the Campbell Fry's Electronics and never once as a kid thought it was strange for an electronics store to be Ancient Egyptian themed. I also figured the whole chain was, until I ended up at the Gears location. End of a bizarre era, RIP (photos from Google maps) https://t.co/08PLWeiRAW pic.twitter.com/UoFs7gdZrE

Sad to see the passing of Fry's. While my wife and I didn't technically go on a date to Fry's, she did ask if we could stop there once on our way to a play. That's when I knew I'd found the right woman. https://t.co/id8MC6ZIXn
