Fujitsu PFU ScanSnap Home: “OnLine Update” to update ABBY FineReader or install OCR Packs does not work

According to [WayBack] Software for the ScanSnap:
ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap
This application can perform text recognition on the scanned images using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to convert the image data into Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files that can be edited.
Install ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap from ScanSnap Online Update after ScanSnap Home is installed.
Display the [WayBack] Main Window of ScanSnap Home and select [Help] → [Online update (check for updates)] in the menu to run ScanSnap Online Update.

Can I use existing ScanSnap Software with ScanSnap iX1500?
ScanSnap iX1500 is not compatible with the following ScanSnap software:
- ScanSnap Manager
- ScanSnap Organizer
- CardMinder
- ScanSnap Receipt
Also, ScanSnap Home cannot coexist with the ScanSap software above.
The ScanSnap software will be automatically uninstalled from the computer when you install ScanSnap Home onto the computer.

OCR Packs: same feat
The same holds for the OCR packs, despite the instruction at [WayBack] OCR Pack (Windows): Installing an OCR Pack
To install an OCR Pack, use the ScanSnap Online Update.
ATTENTION
To use the ScanSnap Online Update, you need to have access to the Internet.
Log on as a user with Administrator privileges.
The latest ScanSnap Home is required to install an OCR Pack.
Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.
For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.
Select [Help] → [Online update (check for updates)].
Follow the instructions to install an OCR Pack.
For details, refer to the ScanSnap Online Update Help.
HINT
If the desired OCR Pack is not displayed in the ScanSnap Online Update window, perform the following and then start up the ScanSnap Online Update again.
Getting a connected status on the ScanSnap
Select the [Check for available software as well] checkbox in the ScanSnap Online Update settings
Even worse: there is no “ScanSnap Online Update settings”.
