The board supports mSATA which is an older standard so it is harder to get media for it. I keep mixing up mSATA and M.2 all the time, so:

mSATA, or miniSATA, is a smaller, thinner version of the full-size SATA SSD. The current mSATA works using SATA III, so it also reaches speeds of up to 6Gb/s. mSATA is essentially the same as the SATA SSD, except the outer shell is removed in order for it to be used in thin-profile devices. Many devices rely on mSATA, so although newly designed applications may opt to use M.2 SATA, mSATA still plays a central role in industrial storage.

The Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H manuals (see below) note “The mSATA connector conforms to SATA 3Gb/s standard and can connect to a single solid-state drive.”
Note that there is both a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H rev 1.0 and 1.1 ([Archive.is] the revision number is in the corner on the long side near the PCI/PCIe slots; mine is [Wayback/Archive.is] rev 1.0), of which the main differences is the 4-pin versus 8-pin ATX power connector:

Minpunten
- Bij grote GPU kaarten worden de toch al schaarse SATA poorten geblokkeerd en kunnen dus niet worden gebruikt.
- Beperkte overklokbaarheid tot ongeveer 1Ghz meer.
- Aftermarket CPU cooler kan tegen de Memory module aanzitten.
- Het tweede PCIe slot is maar 4x.
