Niet verder vertellen, maar mijn vraag “Iemand een alternatief NPO Soul & Jazz-kanaal met zo min mogelijk geklets overdag, en elk uur een nieuwsbulletin?” is op dit moment nog overbodig.

NPO Soul & Jazz is nog steeds on-line, nog steeds met elk uur een nieuwsbulletin. Alleen de gepresenteerde uitzendingen zijn verdwenen. Dat is in bepaalde opzichten een voordeel: minder geklets, ook ‘s avonds.

Edit 20260317: de stream staat op icecast.omroep.nl/radio6-bb-mp3 (een groter lijstje Nederlandse streams staat in mijn blog post FemFM – 〝50% vrouw in je oor, of we zappen door!〞)

Avondprogramma staat al vast – twee gerenommeerde orkesten die hun complete WMC-programma laten horen:

Iemand een alternatief NPO Soul & Jazz-kanaal met zo min mogelijk geklets overdag, en elk uur een nieuwsbulletin?

Oh, dit is heel jammer: [Wayback/Archive] NPO verdedigt schrappen Soul & Jazz-kanaal en wijst op andere mediavormen – RadioFreak.nl

NPO Soul & Jazz verdwijnt dus per 1 januari 2026, naast wat andere zaken waaronder 15% baanverlies: [Wayback/Archive] NPO schrapt BVN en NPO Soul & Jazz, ook verdwijnen 80 banen.

Ik zoek een alternatief voor NPO Soul & Jazz, want tot de jaarwisseling is het een erg prettige kanaal om te luisteren:

  • gemoedelijke muziek (voor mijn hoofd)
  • weinig geklets
  • elk uur nieuwsbulletin

Iemand ideetjes?

Segoe Fluent Icons font – Windows apps | Microsoft Learn

For modern scaleable UI applications, it helps a lot when one has a consistently designed scalable icon set with icons having the same dimensions and features.

In more than just one sense, designing and developing such sets is a lot like developing and designing scaleable fonts. It is not surprising that by now many of these are available as fonts.

Ons of them is [Wayback/Archive] Segoe Fluent Icons font – Windows apps | Microsoft Learn which on the page has the complete list: an impressive one indeed and as such a leap from the old dingbat fonts like Zapf Dingbats fonts (yes, I am more than ITC Zapf Dingbats old; most glyphs ended up in the Dingbats (Unicode block) in 1991), Wingdings from Microsoft Windows 3.1 on, Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3 in Microsoft Office versions until Office 2010, and the – now part of Core fonts for the web – Webdings as of Internet Explore 4.

Those old fonts only had small sets of icons – usually no more than 230, some just dozens – and Segoe Fluent Icons has a huge set of icons.

I wonder, 40 years later, what happened after the USSR dismantled: especially with the developments over the last 10 years and the culmination in the last 2, are these bands – banned in January 1985 – still banned in Russia? [Wayback/Archive] They were banned in the USSR – The Scotsman
