    Unfortunately it is tru I had similar problem. It should be fixed by Microsoft.

      I’m not sure what you mean: did the install of VS2010 fail on a system that had VS2012 installed?

        I don’t remember now exactly… but probably I had problem with Update 2 for VS2012. Firstly I had to uninstall VS2010 and after it I could install Update without any errors. Generally I mean that the problem with ordering of instalation should be solved by Microsoft quickly..

            I have reminded what was my problem. When you try installing Windows SDK for Windows 7 after VS2010 you get: It is crazy that solution from Microsoft is: “you must uninstall all versions of the Visual C++ 2010…”

              Thanks for the follow up!
              Note the error message is not about Visual Studio 2010, but these redistributables if they are newer than the C++ stuff that ships with the SDK:

              • Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable
              • Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable

              I can imagine the same holds for Visual Studio 2010 though, as it installs the C++ stuff at the same time.

              I think the problem does not exist any more with Windows 8, Visual Studio 2012, then the Windows 8 SDK.
              It might be that I did not updates Visual Studio 2012 before installing the Windows 8 SDK though.

              So thanks again for the follow up: if anything breaks in the future, I know what to do.
